Independent Developer

Tools and software
for the communities
that run online.

I am Byrre — an independent developer with over a decade of experience building Discord bots, DayZ anticheat (client-sided and server-sided), Enforce Script mods, iOS apps, and the unglamorous tooling that keeps communities running.

Live in production

The community multi-bot

A full moderation, ticket and media-management system running across multiple production Discord servers. One codebase, many guilds, region-aware routing, and the kind of small touches that come from actually using the tool every day.

Python discord.py SQLite Cog architecture
  • Best-in-class ticket system. Per-category permissions, claim flow, full transcripts, modal-driven workflows. Battle-tested across thousands of tickets.
  • Media channel curation. Auto-moderation for clip and image channels — keeps highlights highlighted, removes the noise.
  • Live staff leaderboards. In-place message edits rather than spam, with rate-limit-aware update batching.
  • Granular role gating. Owners see one view, head admins another, regular staff a third. Configurable per ticket type.
  • Persistent mute and strike engine. Survives reboots, escalates by policy, with a full audit trail.
  • Multi-server aware. Region routing for EU1, EU2, and global tickets — same bot, different homes.

A staff dashboard for the bot

A purpose-built web dashboard that surfaces every piece of data the Discord bot collects — staff performance, ticket trends, cheater report rankings, mute history. Per-server filtering, drill-downs, and the kind of visualisations that turn raw data into action.

  • Staff and cheater leaderboards with live ranking
  • Per-staff drill-down — tickets handled, response time, categories
  • Ticket volume across 7-day, 30-day, all-time and custom ranges
  • Active mute manager with full context per case

Echo custom detection scripts

A growing library of custom detection scripts built specifically for the Echo anticheat platform. These run client-side through Echo and target the DayZ cheat ecosystem — quietly updated as new providers appear in the wild.

  • Coverage of active cheat families. Detections targeting the providers most commonly seen on DayZ servers today.
  • Resilient to obfuscation. Designed not to rely on tricks that cheaters change between versions.
  • Severity-tiered output. Results clustered and ranked so staff can review a case in seconds.
  • Continuously updated. The cheat scene moves fast. New families and rebrands get picked up without changing the public surface.

Fully automatic DayZ anticheat — client-sided and server-sided

A complete anticheat solution covering both ends of the DayZ stack. Client-sided protections that run automatically on player connect, and server-sided Enforce Script validation that catches what the client cannot — all fully automatic with zero manual intervention required.

  • Fully automatic. No manual scanning, no staff button presses.
  • Client-sided layer. Automatic checks triggered on connection.
  • Server-sided layer. Enforce Script validation in real time.
  • Built for 127-slot servers. Tested under real load, zero impact on legitimate players.

Beyond gaming — iOS apps and websites

Discord and DayZ are home turf, but the work extends further. Native iOS apps, full community websites, and bilingual technical reference tools that solve real problems outside the gaming world.

Industrial engineering reference and calculator app

A bilingual technical reference and calculator app for the metalwork and construction industry. Beam-bending and plate-weight calculations, stair geometry, weld throat sizing, ISO tolerances, and an offline handbook covering 16+ categories — grounded in EN, Eurocode, and SBI standards.

Built for engineers, technicians, and welders who need fast, reliable calculations on the shop floor. Available on iPhone, iPad, and the web, with full offline capability across all features.

The work shown here
powers a real community.

Most of the projects above run inside Unrated — a 127-slot DayZ community I help operate. If you want to see the bots, the dashboard, and the anticheat in their natural habitat, the Discord is open.

About

A short
introduction.

I am Byrre — an independent developer working primarily in Python, JavaScript, Lua, Enforce Script, and PHP. About a decade of self-directed hobby experience, mostly through tinkering on game servers — DayZ, Tibia OT, the usual rabbit holes — and never quite stopping.

Most of my work today lives in the gap between Discord bots, DayZ server tooling, and anticheat detection — both client-sided and server-sided. I help run a community, build the bots that moderate it, write the Enforce Script that powers its custom mods, and contribute detections to the anticheat that protects it. The same problem viewed from four angles tends to make for better software.

I care about code that is correct first, fast second, elegant third — in that order. I prefer boring technology that works to clever technology that almost does. Clear naming beats clever comments, and the best ticket bot is the one nobody notices is there.

If you are running an online community, building a small product, or maintaining infrastructure for a niche where attention to detail matters more than scale — I would be happy to hear about it.
